In an exclusive conversation with CNBC TV18 Nadella said, “Project Sangam is an extension of what we have done with Linkedin.” Citing an example of the hospitality sector he told the news channel, “hospitality can be a great source of employment going forward. But the question is how do we train people in the hospitality sector? So, we are building up an open platform so that the people with skill training capability can pour their training there and people with jobs can put their jobs in it.” He further said, “We will bring the same technology that we had in Linkedin to help both upskill the workforce for these various vocational jobs and then really finding the jobs that they aspire to get.” Earlier today, at the Future Decoded event, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella delivered a keynote address and launched a lighter version of the popular calling app Skype and said that it will use the Aadhaar numbers as authentication. This decision by Microsoft comes after Nadella met IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and discussed the benefits of technology in several ‘Digital India'sc projects. The CEO of one of the biggest tech companies also spoke on Microsoft'scs enterprise initiatives in India and stressed on cloud-computing for enterprises. The Skype Lite with Aadhaar is very much an India-centric announcement, and it is evident that the company is investing heavily in the country. During the event, Nadella showcased the various case scenarios on how Skype could be used and how Aadhaar'scs huge database can be used for identity authentication. Nadella had earlier met PM Narendra Modi and Ravi Shankar Prasad when he assured the government of its initiatives in healthcare and education. Nadella also participated in a roundtable at NITI Aayog, tapping into cloud computing for good governance in the country. Nadella and Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal had also announced a partnership between the two companies for ‘cloud'sc services, where the latter use the Microsoft Azure as an exclusive service.
